Julio Rodriguez

Julio Rodriguez is focused on  facilitating Disciple Making Movements in Latin America. He is helping the INSTAR Project in Honduras, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Ecuador. This is from Julio’s heart:

“You are the light of the world” Matt 5:14

Our light shines bright as we are obedient to the calling that the Lord has put in our hearts.

We all have a part in the Kingdom of God and we all need each other to accomplish the great commission to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world.

How then shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

I have said: “Send me, Lord”.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenheated, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering the sight to the blind,  to set at liberty them that are bruised.
Luke 4:18

You too can be a part by actively praying and supporting missions.

I will be going to Latin America and will need you to stand with me.

Your participation is greatly appreciated. Blessings in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

News From Honduras

For several days missionaries from Honduras and myself traveled throughout remote areas of Honduras proclaiming the gospel; encouraging new pastors and new believers; praying over new churches; and attending evangelistic outreaches. Several new discovery groups were started; Native Honduran missionaries received clothes and children received both clothes and stuffed animals. A new church building was inaugurated and prayed for;  new church building projects were prayed over; a new believer was baptized; and Bible students and leaders were encouraged.

Truly, the harvest is ready and the Honduran people are hungry for the Gospel. The Good News is rapidly spreading throughout many regions of Honduras, meanwhile, the enemy has been busy ravaging families and thrusting people into poverty. In many regions, Hondurans depend heavily on agriculture. Yet, jobs are scarce. There are great social needs in this nation of loving people. In many cases, news reports unfairly paint a negative picture of the nation. The media tends to magnify the problem when only a few individuals are out creating the majority of the crimes. The nation is not in chaos, but rarely do you hear of the good that often take place in this country. We never hear about the sacrifices that many people make to care for their families, the freedom that people enjoy, the vast number of agricultural products that are exported to many nations, and so forth. The Honduran people are truly the country’s greatest blessing. They are very hard working, family oriented, with a tremendous desire to give of themselves.

I hardly met anyone who didn’t already know the message of salvation and the love of God. This is a nation where people are still free to express their beliefs in the open, regardless of the message being true or false. There does exist opportunistic individuals who try to lure people with false teachings. On my arrival date, I personally encountered such an individual. For this reason and more, there is a great challenge to teach and disciple new believers so they can discern the truth. Discovery groups is one way to counter the enemy’s lies and to prepare believers so that they can be on the offensive. Now is the time to make a difference in this very scenic and beautiful nation. We can all take part in assisting this nation become all that God wants it to be by praying and by reaching one person at a time. Roots are already taking hold through discovery group teachings.

There are many realities that cannot be ignored. Education is one of those things we take for granted. However, many children in Honduras cannot attend public school because their families cannot afford a uniform. Uniforms are mandatory. The uniform requirement is a great policy, however, financially stricken families find it difficult to afford and purchase them. I find this shameful because without an education a whole generation will not be able to escape poverty.

More on Missions to Ecuador

Preparing native leaders is the most cost effective and efficient way to reach a nation. However, believer have to be willing to pray that the Lord will send laborers into the harvest, than we need those who are willing to sponsor the ones that the Lord sends. It’s a team effort and no one person can do it all.

Many years ago, I asked God to send me to the nations to preach the Gospel. Since then, I have traveled to several nations. It’s amazing who God will use and how he will make things happen. Ecuador is on my mind and prayer this year. Please pray and support this effort. It is a beautiful with awesome rewards both in this present age and in the age to come.
